The HSA is funding research being carried out by Awal Fuseini at the University of Bristol and Carlos Rebelo at the Royal Veterinary College. Awal recently p7ublished a scientific paper discussing the compatibility of modern slaughter techniques with Halal and Carlos is exploring how to further develop the design of dry electrical stunning systems used for small-scale, on-farm slaughter of turkeys.
