The project focused on assessing the welfare of broiler chickens in selected wet markets of Kampala and Wakiso districts in Uganda. The aims of the project were to assess the broiler welfare using animal and resource-based measures and to establish practices of handlers/traders that potentially affect the welfare of the broilers in the wet markets of Kalerwe and Matugga in Kampala and Wakiso districts, respectively.
