Every year, more and more people like to leave a gift to charity in their Will. The Humane Slaughter Association and the Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) are jointly offering up to £400,000 of research funding for a project to develop a more humane way to stun pigs during commercial slaughter.

Following the HSA’s visit to Kenya in November 2015, The Kenya Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (KSPCA) has been sent a range of additional educational materials on humane handling and stunning of livestock for dissemination to slaughter persons, vets and meat inspectors.
