Grants and Awards

The Humane Slaughter Association (HSA) is an international UK-based  charity and membership society that funds research and other projects aimed at improving animal welfare during transport, marketing, slaughter and killing for disease control and welfare reasons. Current grants are listed below.

Grant applications are assessed on their importance for animal welfare, their scientific and other merits, as well as the skills of the applicant.

Account is also taken of the circumstances in the country they are applying from, with a view to long-term capacity building in science-based animal welfare around the world.  Please note that consideration has to be given to any banking and fiscal restrictions.
